a trip to the Saatchi Gallery

Spent Mothering Sunday with my lovely mother and sister up near Sloane Square at the Saatchi Gallery.

Here are some highlights

still here from when i last visited last easter - this room filled with oil by RICHARD WILSON

I love the skin tones, particularly the knees, in these pieces by EDUARDO BERLINER

What i found striking about this is, whilst all of his other work in this room was collaged, this had been painted.

by far my favourite pieces in the gallery. i love the skin tones, and links well to a lot of my own work. DAWIT ABEBE

some fabulous cut outs, with the remaining woods then painstakingly painted on. my mother was a big fan of this work, by EPHREM SOLOMON

just adored the colours in these, by FEDERICO HERRERO (the paintings) and PIA CAMIL (the vases)

my absolute favourite - i love how you actually feel the perspective; the towering height of the trees makes a great impact

a series of tree related work by JORGE MAYET (the sculptures) and DIEGO MENDOZA IMBACHI (the paintings)

a massive installation // TOUT DOIT DISPARAITRE // made from 97,000 blue plastic bags

I mean these people are an artwork in themselves

each individual triangle was cut out, then depending on whether i wanted them elevated or sunken, i stuck them onto varying sizes of wooden blocks

sketchbook work, A2 exam.

photographed using iphone 4s of my sister Phoebe on the streets of weybridge. printed off in Boots on instant photo printer. then fried in a frying pan with hot olive oil.

cut the figure out using a knife and then ran a match along the inner edge, holding it for longer occasionally for a more exaggerated burn
